Three dental students have recently been honored for their impressive restorative work at the Global Clinical Case Contest (GCCC) 2023-2024, held in Constance, Germany, Dentsply Sirona announced in a press release.
The students were selected from a competitive field of ten finalists who presented challenging restoration cases using Dentsply Sirona products.
The finalists were chosen from a pool of 411 students representing 127 universities across more than 20 countries, who participated in regional preliminary rounds to earn their spots in the global final.
The international jury, composed of Dr. Britta Hahn from University Hospital Würzburg (Germany), Dr. Ian Cline from King’s College London (UK), and Prof. Gaetano Paolone from the University of Milan (Italy), awarded top honors to the following students:
1st Place – Fractured Upper Right Central Incisor
N Movina Wu from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, won first place with her case involving a fractured upper right central incisor. She utilized a minimally invasive direct composite restoration, including shade matching with Neo Spectra composite and finishing with Enhance Finishing system and Prisma Gloss materials, achieving a natural-looking result.
2nd Place – Diastema Closure Post Orthognathic and Orthodontic Treatment
Qinyang Li from Sichuan University, China, earned second place for her work on closing a diastema after orthognathic and orthodontic treatment. Her case featured direct composite restoration guided by digital design, using Prime&Bond Universal Adhesive and Dentsply Sirona ceram·x composites, with finishing and polishing by the Enhance system.3rd Place – Aesthetics Procedure of Upper Anterior Teeth Post Orthodontic Treatment

Mayar Mostafa from Alexandria University, Egypt, received third place for addressing poor aesthetics in the upper anterior teeth of a 23-year-old patient post-orthodontics. Her approach included composite veneers for minimal invasiveness, digital smile analysis, and Neo Spectra ST composites, finished with the Enhance system for a glossy, natural-looking result in a single visit.
