Dentists in Fiji are warning patients about unlicensed businesses providing cosmetic dentistry services and the corrosion that can happen in people’s mouths.
ABC News recently reported that, “The Fiji Dental Association (FDA) said the illegal practice was extremely concerning, pointing the finger mainly at beauty salons that offer the procedures at unrealistically low prices.”
It is alleged that super glue is being used to attach gemstones that are meant for fingernails and filing tools are being used on the teeth. While the procedures are being done in unhygienic conditions, the mental in the mouth may also cause toxins which could cause damage to the mouth.
The FDA predicts that thousands have fallen victim already.
