This mascara went straight into my makeup bag after the first time I tested it. Here is the lowdown on the new Milk Makeup Rise Waterproof Mascara that just launched. I have photos and an application video you can check out too.
What is Milk Makeup Rise Waterproof Mascara?
Milk Makeup launched the Rise Mascara* in 2022 which I liked but never got around to writing about, but as soon as I tried this new Waterproof version*, I knew it deserved a place on the blog.
This new launch is:
- Lengthening mascara
- Designed to give natural definition
- Uses a blend of sunflower, berry, candelilla and carnauba waxes to condition
- Soft, lightweight texture
- Builds length and adds a subtle volume
- Lifts and holds a curl
- Mineral pigments give a rich, black finish
- Film formers create a waterproof finish for long-lasting wear
Before & After Photos
I usually do these photos with before and afters with one, two and three coats the first time I test a mascara, however this time, I tried it for the first time for a video, so only really got an after photo, sorry!
You can watch the video to see the application below, but here are the before and after pics:

My Review
I found application with the Milk Makeup Rise Waterproof Mascara absolutely effortless. I often struggle when I apply mascara because I’m on the clumsy side and I tend to get a lot of product on my lids, but I really didn’t struggle too much with this one.
The brush picks up the lashes nicely and gives them a lovely lift, which stays in place all day. Every time I looked in the mirror I thought my lashes looked really pretty!
Because I tend to avoid powder, and like a really dewy look, I do find that regular mascaras can move around a little and transfer above and below my eyes, but this one didn’t budge thanks to its waterproof film-formers.
The pigment is super black and the formula locks the curl into place until I remove it. And it is important to note that, even though this is a waterproof, longwear formula, it is pretty easy to remove.
I have just been using my regular oil cleansers, or cleansing balms to get it off, and in particular, the new Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Cleansing Gelee, and it comes away really easily.
